We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Shared Ownership Property Lawyer to join our Residential Property Department. The successful candidate will specialise in shared ownership transactions, helping clients navigate the complexities of shared ownership schemes, from first-time buyers to housing associations. You will handle a variety of shared ownership transactions, including new build purchases, resales, staircasing, and leases.

About the Role:
- Provide expert legal advice to individual clients, housing associations, and other stakeholders on all aspects of shared ownership, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and guidelines.
- Draft, negotiate, and review contracts, including leases, transfer deeds, and sale agreements, ensuring they comply with legal standards.
- Regularly communicate with clients, housing associations, mortgage lenders, developers, and other parties involved in shared ownership transactions.
- Conduct title reviews, property searches, and other due diligence to identify and address any potential legal issues.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case files, ensuring timely progression of matters.
- Act on behalf of clients in negotiations with other parties and provide advice on dispute resolution when required.
- Stay informed about changes in property law, particularly in shared ownership, and attend relevant training sessions. Support junior staff as needed.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Must be a qualified solicitor or legal executive or Conveyancing Executive with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in property law, ideally with a focus on shared ownership or residential conveyancing.
- Ideally have an in-depth knowledge of shared ownership schemes, leasehold properties, and the legal framework surrounding affordable housing.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly to clients and stakeholders.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in handling transactions, contracts, and client matters.
- Excellent organizational abilities, able to manage a busy caseload efficiently and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrates a client-first approach, ensuring that client needs and expectations are met with professionalism and expertise.
- Ability to identify and address issues proactively, with strong problem-solving skills in resolving property transaction complexities.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience working with housing associations or developers.
- Familiarity with other property-related matters such as Help to Buy or Right to Buy schemes.
- A strong network of industry contacts within property law or real estate.
