Brigit Nolan

Associate

Office:

Brigit started her career in law in 1994 and has over 25 years of experience in personal injury litigation and she has been specialising in asbestos related conditions for over 13 years.

She has a wealth of experience in dealing with all types of asbestos disease claims and she has led a talented team in the south west, in the fight against exposure to asbestos. She has a depth of knowledge which enables her to thoroughly investigate all aspects of asbestos exposure and to identify potential defendants and insurers. Brigit’s experience provides a great insight into what makes a successful claim and how to meet the criteria to pursue it with success.

Brigit has brought claims against an endless list of employers, including national retail stores, engineering firms, surveyors, breweries, large and small building companies, power stations, MOD dockyards, schools, local authorities and many more. She has also achieved many successes where the exposure to asbestos was initially unknown.

Brigit has a great passion for helping families navigate their way through any asbestos related diagnosis and to recover significant compensation for pleural and peritoneal Mesothelioma, lung cancer, asbestosis and pleural thickening. She has a warm and empathetic approach and is genuinely driven to help her client’s at what is a very difficult time in their lives. She is not only able to offer first class legal expertise, but much needed compassion, understanding and support to help navigate through the legal process, obtain the best care and treatment possible and to achieve the best possible financial outcome.

As well as helping people who have been exposed to asbestos during their working life, Brigit has successfully pursued claims on behalf of people who have been exposed on a secondary basis, such as through hugging loved ones, children who have been in close contact with their parents who have had asbestos fibers on their work clothes and wives who have washed their husband’s overalls.

Brigit also ensures that her clients are receiving all available benefits from the DWP and helps with War Pension applications and deals with claims under the Diffuse Mesothelioma Payments Scheme.

Brigit is a senior litigator with the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) and has worked very closely with SWASAG (South West Asbestos Support Group) to provide help and support to patients and their families who are suffering from Mesothelioma and other asbestos related diseases as well as national charity Mesothelioma UK.

She has enjoyed sharing her wealth of experience with clinicians and medical professionals at various local hospitals, educating them on the subject of asbestos disease claims and demonstrating the value and support that she and her team can offer to their patients and their families.
