Lauren Preedy is a highly experienced and pro-active family law solicitor and Partner at Amicus Law, based in the Bridgwater office. With over two decades of legal experience and a specialism in family law since 2004, Lauren brings a calm, approachable, and solution-focused approach to her work. She is known for delivering clear, concise legal advice with kindness and a strong sense of fairness.
Lauren advises on all aspects of family law, including:
• Divorce and financial remedy proceedings
• Pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements
• Cohabitation and separation agreements
• Private children matters, including disputes over living arrangements, relocation, education, medical decisions, and religious upbringing
She has particular expertise in complex and high-net-worth financial cases, often involving business interests, pensions, and inherited or pre-acquired assets. Lauren is passionate about helping clients protect their wealth and navigate separation with dignity and clarity.
A strong advocate for out-of-court resolution, Lauren is a trained Collaborative Lawyer and Chair of the Somerset POD. She is also a member of the Somerset Resolution committee, having previously served as Chair. She is trained in the Resolution Together model and regularly uses negotiation, round-table meetings, and mediation to help clients reach amicable outcomes. However, she is also a confident litigator when court proceedings are necessary.
Lauren joined Amicus Law to be part of a modern, friendly firm offering a full range of legal services, and to help grow the family law team alongside her colleague Lev.
Outside of work, Lauren enjoys walking her beautiful red fox Labrador and spending time with friends and family.
