Amicus Law promotes Emily House to Head of Taunton Office

Amicus Law is pleased to announce the promotion of Residential Conveyancer Emily House to Head of Office at its Taunton branch.

Emily, who previously led residential conveyancing at the firm’s busy Bridgwater office, now takes on responsibility for a multidisciplinary team of 18 colleagues based at Hammet Street in Taunton.

Since joining Amicus Law in 2021, Emily has progressed rapidly through the business. In October 2025, she became the firm’s youngest Associate at the age of 24. With this latest promotion, she is now also the youngest Head of Office within the firm.

A new chapter in Taunton

Reflecting on her new role, Emily said:

“I’m proud to take on the role of Head of Office in Taunton. Since joining Amicus Law, I’ve been fortunate to work alongside a fantastic team in Bridgwater and have been given opportunities to develop and progress. This promotion is an exciting next step in my career.

“While my background is in residential conveyancing, I’m looking forward to leading a multidisciplinary team and supporting colleagues across a range of legal services. It’s a fantastic opportunity to broaden my experience while continuing to deliver the high standards of client care and service that are so important to us.

“We’ve built real momentum as a business and I’m excited to contribute to the continued success and growth of the Taunton office. My focus will be on supporting the team, strengthening relationships within the local community and ensuring we continue to provide the best possible outcomes for our clients.”

Recognising talent and leadership

Claire Lovett, Managing Partner at Amicus Law, commented:

“Emily’s promotion is thoroughly deserved and reflects the exceptional contribution she has made to the firm since joining us. She has consistently demonstrated outstanding technical ability, professionalism and a genuine commitment to delivering the highest standards of client care.

“Her progression to Associate at such a young age was a significant achievement, and she has continued to exceed our expectations through her leadership, commercial success and positive influence on those around her.

“Emily’s ability to manage a substantial caseload while maintaining excellent client feedback and supporting the wider team is particularly impressive. She has built strong relationships with clients, estate agents and professional contacts, helping to strengthen our reputation and drive our continued growth.

“She is an excellent role model for her colleagues, and her energy, ambition and dedication make her a valuable asset to the business. I have no doubt she will continue to thrive and play a key role in the future success of Amicus Law.”

Continuing to grow

Emily’s appointment reflects Amicus Law’s ongoing commitment to developing talent from within and strengthening its presence in the communities it serves.

The Taunton office continues to play a key role in the firm’s growth across the South West, providing clients with access to a wide range of legal services delivered with a strong focus on client care and trusted local relationships.
