We were delighted to see our Education Solicitor Rebecca Roberts featured on BBC’s The One Show last night, highlighting the fantastic work taking place at The Den Coffee House in Taunton.
The Den has become a welcoming and inclusive space at the heart of the local community, bringing together a range of professionals who offer their time and expertise to support others. Rebecca, one of their regular contributors, has been running legal clinics there since last Spring, offering accessible, face-to-face support for individuals navigating education-related issues.
Through these clinics, Rebecca provides preliminary legal advice in a friendly and informal setting. Sessions are available in bookable 40-minute slots, giving people the opportunity to talk through their concerns and gain a clearer understanding of their options.
During the filming of The One Show, the programme team visited the Den to meet its founder, Claire Naylor, along with the professionals who contribute to its success. As part of this, Rebecca shared her insight into the positive impact the clinics are having within the community. She also spoke about her concerns around proposed government reforms to special educational needs provision, an area she is particularly passionate about.
Rebecca’s contribution reflects the wider ethos of making legal support more accessible and approachable. By offering her time and expertise in a community setting, she is helping individuals feel heard, informed, and supported at what can often be a very challenging time.
