Elaine is a Consultant Solicitor at our Weymouth office, specialising in Employment Law. She advises both employees and employers on all aspects of employment law and has successfully represented clients in Employment Tribunal cases, including those involving unfair dismissal, discrimination (sex, race, disability), whistleblowing, and bullying. She also conducts her own advocacy.
Elaine began her legal career as a Trainee Solicitor in 1998 after achieving a Distinction in her Legal Practice Diploma. Prior to law, she had a successful career in education, working as a teacher, teacher trainer, and Assistant Director at an English language school in London. She is also a published author, having written several books on English grammar that remain in publication.
Beyond her legal work, Elaine has been actively involved with Citizens Advice, serving as Vice Chair and Chair of her local branch. Since 2016, she has provided ongoing support to Syrian refugees resettled in Dorset. In her spare time, she enjoys gig rowing as a member of Weymouth Rowing Club.
